developement

Developing the live brief

Developing an ident and packaging for a band

Through discussion in the classroom, it was suggested that the strongest idea for the ident were these images because they were commented  as being bold. They would also work as an ident because the basic shape of the FM with the swoosh through the middle will still be clear even down to 12pt.

The swoosh is a simplification of an earlier idea which relates to music, the lines and notes on a page.

The above images were created in illustrator by using image trace and then blending the various paths to create one outlined drawing which would be suitable for a possible laser cut file.

I used the below photographic images to create the portraits.

I developed the portraits further to fit the plan for my box set cut out, the idea is that I will fit four CD's with printed covers into a box design along with a t-shirt.
I've also further developed the T-shirt idea by drawing into a large print made with image traced portraits, scanned back into Illustrator and then added more layers of abstract shapes and text to match the outside of the box

I've tried to match the look and feel of the T-shirt design with the CD covers. The ident "FM" work in just black and are easily identifiable when reduced to a small size.

I've also added these symbols to denote which CD belongs to which peace of text in the slip cover
